Avery Elle February Release with Ellen Hutson

Hi Friends! The Design Ambassadors at Ellen Hutson were invited to help celebrate the new release from Avery Elle, and I seriously can't wait to share my projects from the most adorable fair set ever! First things first, you should have come from the blog of Carolyn Peeler, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with Elena Roussakis.

We could pick any stamp set from their new release, which sounds like it may be a difficult decision, but as soon as I saw it I knew I NEEDED to have the set with the Ferris Wheel and the bumper car. Eeep! How fun is this?! After playing with the Peek-a-Boo Fair set for a while I can safely say I do not regret my decision one bit!

Let's take a look ...

In addition to the Ferris Wheel and bumper car, this set comes with an adorable unicorn. This is where the Peek-a-boo feature comes in ... he's got little hooves that can "hang on" to things. You may be familiar with this concept from similar Avery Elle sets like:

Peek-a-Boo Jungle
Peek-a-Boo Pals Spooktacular
Peek-a-Boo Summer Pals
Peek-a-Boo Scary Pals
Polar Peek-a-Boo Pals
Peel-a-Boo Pets
Peek-a-Boo Pals

and even a Peek-a-Boo Car and Peek-a-Boo Balloon!

If you have any of these sets, you can have those critters ride the Ferris wheel too! Conversely, if this is all new to you, you can pick up one of those sets to give the unicorn some friends to ride with.

For the most part this is a one layer card. I cut a slit on the top of the car and slipped the unicorn's neck behind it. Then I put a foam dot behind the head so it's coming out a little. A little glitter on the horn and hooves, some blue eye shadow, and a touch of blush and this unicorn is ready to strut its stuff at the fair!

The cars of the Ferris wheel are colored by making stripes with alcohol markers. The cloudy background is made by blending blue ink over a handmade cloud shape I cut from paper.

At our local theme park the bumper cars is our favorite non-roller coaster ride. We've been running into each for over a decade now! I have to say, using this stamp was about as fun. So much so that I had to make two of these cards!

I appreciate all the little details in this set .. the little flag you can add to your car (what a great place to add the birthday boy or girl's age), the "beep" license plate, the tiny cluster of stars, and especially all the punny sentiments. I combined a few of these punny sentiments with a large "birthday" from the Avery Elle Cotton Candy set.

On the bumper car itself I added a lot of highlights with a white gel pen. The floor is made from the Essentials by Ellen  Rustic Woodgrain background stamp. Did you also notice this was essentially a one layer card as well? No dies, just good old fashioned stamps!

After finishing these cards I made sure to put this set away in my most-used cart. I know I'm going to be reaching for this cute and unique set quite a few times!

If you are thinking of getting this set with any of the other Peek-a-Boo sets, or one of the other sets from this release, now would be a good time ... a $50 Avery Elle purchase earns you a $10 for a future purchase.
