Hello Friends! Spring is officially here in the Northern Hemisphere, and although (or maybe because) it's a Spring unlike any other, we're especially anxious to start seeing pretty things popping up in our area. I've got two cards to share using watercolors for this Pretty Pink Posh hop from the Ellen Hutson Design Ambassadors. You may have come from Emily Mydlowski, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with Julie Ebersole!
This new Tulips stamp set is really versatile ... you get two main tulip images and one tulip bud image. These are more than enough to create your own giant field of tulips with a little masking, like I did here.
Then once you have your scene built, you can go to town with the coloring. I've been loving watercoloring, so I pulled them out again for this card.
The sentiment is from another cute new set, Lady Bug Friends. It's stamped in a soft blush color to keep most of the focus on the field of tulips. Of course, a little gold spatter never hurt anyone!
This card features watercolored flowers as well, but instead of watercoloring inside a stamped image, these flowers are watercolored die cuts from the Spring Scene die set. So yay ... no lines to stay inside of!!
The nice thing about coloring die cuts, as opposed to stamped images, is that there are no lines to follow, so you get to add your own doodled details. You can certainly be very dramatic with these, but I went pretty simple and just added darker centers, various dots, shaded petals, etc.
The vellum clouds are from the Essentials by Ellen Clouds die set and are the perfect size to add to this scene. Also, the sentiment is from the Esentials by Ellen Every Day Punnies set.
Let's not forget to admire the adorable butterfly, which is already scored so you can easily bend up his tiny wings. What a great little detail to add to any of your floral cards!
Speaking of adorable little things, you may have heard that Paulina's sweet baby boy is here! Baby Zion Asher was born Saturday,
March 7th. He spent a few days in the NICU but is already home and surrounded by his fan club. Big congrats to Paulina and her entire family!!
