Hi Folks! Have you seen the sneaks of this new woodland critter set Backyard Party from Ellen Hutson?! Oh my cuteness! These little guys are just adorable, and are sure to bring a smile to anyone you send cards to.
That owl ... slays me! He's got such a funny deadpan expression, that outfitting him with a party hat and having him be the one to hold the balloon just made me giggle. Notice how all the other critters have their hands up. Perfect for making them interact with each other. Like the bunny offering up his ice cream, or the squirrel presenting his cake.
As cute as the critters are, let's not forget the accessories. This set has so many useful little additions to make your cards really come to life. Cake, party hats, balloons, presents, everything you need for a party. Also, I'd like to point out my "grass" ... the versatile stripe from Winterscapes.
How about one more card with this cast of characters? This time they've all been gathered (loosely) for a portrait.
Again, their raised arms lets us make them interact with each other easier. Here the racoon is giving the bunny a lift, and the bunny is high-fiving the squirrel. And the owl, well, he's just embarrassed to be seen with this crew.
The photo frame is from the Instant Photo Frames die. Love that sentiment from Handful, and how it fits so nicely on the photo frame.
I was so darn excited to get this set in the mail and start playing with it! Actually, I ended up die cutting 5-6 sets of the critters for future use, because I know I'll be using them. My 5th grade son was bored this week so I invited him in my craft room and suggested he make a card. He picked this set to work with. And there you have it. 5th grade boy approved set!

The only thing better than your wonderful cards is your commentary on them, Kelly. It was a fun read.
