You may have come from the blog of Nathalie DeSousa, but if not please feel free to start at the beginning with the Altenew Card Blog.
There's just something new and exciting about a tulip, perhaps because it's a sign of Spring and new beginnings. When I saw this new Build-a-Flower I was anxious to see what it would look like in all the different colors ... so that's what I did!
I mean seriously, how amazing is all that texture to support the colorful tulips?! Loving the sentiment as well, which comes with the Tulip BAF set.
Which color is your favorite? I'm usually a big fan of pink, which is really pretty, but the blue tulip is also calling me.
Since the rainbow tulip card only used one of the tulips in the set, I wanted to make another card that used the second tulip as well. This card uses both tulips, all held together by the Mid Century Frame Die.
The stripes are from the Birch Impressionism stamp set, which I love for the fluid edges. Finally, the Sentiment Strips are always on my desk in a tiny bowl, ready for me to finish a card off.
The layers on these two tulips are really well thought out, which I appreciate. The large petal on the front of the first tulip really makes it easy to line everything up. Even my first attempts were right-on!

ReplyDeleteInsanely great idea, to use just the tulip heads and delicate mandala die. I got that die for Christmas. A question -- how do you keep all the little cut outs in place? Why didn't they all fall out -- or did they and you poked them back in?
