Hi Folks, welcome to the Catherine Pooler Storybook Collection Blog Hop! You may have come from Daniel's blog, but if not please feel free to start at the beginning with none other than Catherine Pooler's blog.
To make things a little more flexible, and to make sure you get exactly what you're looking for, the collection of products in the Storybook Collection is divided into three different bundles for purchase:
And let's not forget one of the most exciting things ... NEW Ink Colors!! Four new colors have been added to the robust palette of existing colors.
The set of cards I'm sharing today is from the Fluttering Friends stamp and die set from the Enchanted Forest Bundle, with adorable bird illustrations that are so flexible for different coloring styles. For these cards I've only used watercolors. Let's take a closer look!
This card uses all four of the new Ink Colors! The background of the card, and the chartreuse elements in the bird's feathers are from my new favorite color, Lemongrass. The red in the cardinal is watercolored from the inside of the Rouge ink pad cover, the purple on the tail and wing is from Queen for a Day, and the leaves are watercolored in Sage with Lemongrass highlights. Wonderful colors that work so well together!
This card features a wonderfully-sized text background from the rubber stamp F as in .... Love that you can stamp this in a light color that doesn't detract too much, and results in a nicely covered background, with a thin white margin. Perfect for so many different styles.
The leaves and acorns are fun to layer up and create a place for these birds to rest awhile.
This next card uses a similar concept, only instead of the oak leaves, I've layered the smaller-leaved foliage and the tiny berries underneath the sentiment. The background is smooshed with Seafoam Ink.
My third card is stamped with the same F as in ... background stamp and shaded. Then I cut the tiny leaved die cut element in half and used that as tree cover on top of the panel.
The bird is carrying two of the sentiments in her beak.
And here they are all together ... I really had fun making these!
In case you missed it, here are the two cards from yesterday's IG hop.
And finally, here's my whole collection, made from just the Fluttering Friends and the F as in ... set!
