Altenew Build-A-Flower: Wild Rose Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Hello Friends! How could these Altenew Build-a-Flower sets get any more beautiful?! I just don't know! But even though I had a super-crazy August this year, I had to make some time to try out the new Wild Rose set. Guess what, it did NOT disappoint!!

You may have come from the blog of Joylita Dsouza, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with Altenew Card Blog.

I went with a pale peach for the base of the flowers and then added some pinks for the shadow layer. The light and dark yellow centers turned out to be a nice pop.

Wild Rose Layering Stamp & Die Set

What I like about this set is the extreme amount of detail in both the flower petals and the leaves. That's something that would be very difficult, and beyond my abilities, to do on my own (one of the criteria I use when deciding what products to buy).

The first sentiment on green cardstock comes with this set. I often like to combine and beef up the sentiments, so I added some die cut letters, and a portion of a die cut phrase on top.

One tip to share: I actually only stamped and cut two flowers, but since I layered one of the flowers behind the other by a decent amount, I cut that portion off that wasn't showing. And then added that small cut portion behind the other two, so it looks like three flowers.

Altenew Plentiful Patterns Stand-alone Dies/Stencils Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($3I00 in total prizes)

Hello Friends! "Plentiful Patterns" is definitely the theme of the latest die release from Altenew, and to me that's the most useful type of die around. Anytime you can add some pattern to your projects is usually a big win. These are the dies I reach for in my collection over and over again.

You may have come from the blog of Laurie Willison, but if not, feel free to start at the beginning with the Altenew Blog.

My first card starts out with several patterns ... on the new Bountiful Butterflies stencil and die set!

The butterflies have landed on some sentiments strips, made from the left over middles of the Mix and Match Frames Die Set.

The die cut stripes make for a really great panel for putting your focal point on. It's something a little different, but not "odd" different, if you know what I mean

Here's a card using the same butterflies, only this time they have landed on two background panels from the
Mix and Match Frames Die Set with a pattern stenciled from the Brick Rosette Stencil Set.

Not wanting to put the stencils away after I used them turned out to be a good thing, as i was in the process of die cutting the butterflies when I realize the stripes from the
Brick Rosette Stencil Set would look just as good on the tips of the butterfly wings.

Of course I have to adhere the butterflies down the middle so their wings can be bent up. Easiest way to get dimension ever!

The sentiments are from the latest release, the All About You Word Die.

I love that these are made with classic products that will get a ton of use!

This card showcases the new Pattern Motif Die Set. I've only used one of the layers on this card (it also has a larger shadow layer).

In addition, I've only used a small portion of the die, which is nice because with a die this large you can switch up which portion of the pattern you're using and still keep the design fresh.

The background is blended in with some gold spatters. The sentiment is again from the All About You Die Set.

Finally, the new Wave Form Cover Die is one of those great background builders, where once you make one background, you automatically have the ingredients to make another 4-5 more backgrounds!

I selected a patterned paper for one of the layers to spice it up a bit. Sentiment from alpha dies layered with a phrase from the
You Matter Die Set.

It's great having all of these cards ready to go!

Colorado Craft Company - New Big and Bold!

Hi friends! Welcome to the Colorado Craft Company blog hop to celebrate the new release for two new Whimsy World, and two new Big & Bold stamp and die sets. I was anxious to ink up the new Hibiscus and Hummingbird bird set, and am sharing a card featuring that set!

You may have come from the blog of Kassi Hulet, but if not, feel free to start at the beginning with Adrienne Kennedy-3C

Such gorgeous details in the hummingbird … I thought they’d look good embossed in good. And since I did that, the “big & bold” flowers are embossed in gold as well. Loose watercoloring is very faint in the background.

What I like about the Colorado Craft Compnay’s dies is that the word dies always cut nice and close to the words, like the sentiment on shocking pink cardstock here. It’s great when you don’t want to cover up too much of your background.

Prizes:
You can win one stamp set of your choice, and will have TWO chances to win for each person in the blog hop! One from the blog post, and one from the Instagram post! All you need to do to enter is follow, and leave a comment. Good luck!!

I now have the pleasure of sending you to the amazingly talented Nichol Spohr, who has something fabulous to show you!

Here are the rest of the hoppers if you need them:

From Under the Sea to a Glorious Sunrise - New Use for the Reverse Confetti CIrcle of Waves Die

Hello, Sunshine! It's always great to get more than one use out of your dies, and I've got new look for the Reverse Confetti Waves Die that was released earlier this month.

For this card that I shared during the release sneak peeks, I used the Waves Die as, well, WAVES. Several shades of blue, and a host of undersea creatures gave the feeling of an ocean scene.

I really like this die and wanted to come up with a different reason to use it.

For this card, instead of waves from an ocean, we have sections of clouds/sky in a sun rise. Completely different scene.

And how appropriate is the sentiment ... the flower is saying "hello" to the sunshine covering the land. This sentiment comes from another new set, Lovely Day Sentiments. Love the tall letters accompanied by the script sentiment.

I'm working on another use for this Circle of Waves, let's see if I can get it to work out. In the meantime, thanks so much for stopping by!

Pinkfresh Studio July Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release

Hi Friends! We have another monster release from Pinkfresh Studio to share with you! How does it keep getting better? I don't know, but wait until you see all the smartly designed sets of stamps/dies/layering stencils, and even some stand-alone layering stencils for customizing backgrounds.

You may have arrived from the blog of Keia Shipp-Smith, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with Pinkfresh Studio.

Too early for Christmas? Nope, not with some fun colors and this Stars Layering Stencil set.

Slimline Stars Layering Stencil

Grab a set of ink pads and start blending ink dark to light for each of the three layers of stencils. Then cut the cardstock into a triangle and you've got a festive tree with tiny star ornaments. Of course it's a great match for a mini-slim card.

Here's a good close up at the letters and dimension (Lea's Ornate Uppercase Alphas). The star is from Shaker Stars in a recent release.

You can also use individual layers of the star stencils to add details, like the tiny stars I added in the background on the top of this card. Speaking of background, those lovely stripes belong to the Slimline Plaid Layering Stencil Set. Will be using that one a ton!

Here's another use for the layering star stencils, a stardust trail! I made a quick template from copy paper and stenciled through the template.

The die cut big stars are again from the Shaker Star Dies. I layered a few of them, big and small, added the alphas, sentiment strips and gems. Lots going on here.

Speaking of gems, I added some to the stenciled stardust area at the last minute (first photo doesn't have them). Undecided which way I like it, maybe you have a preference?

The background is from the Slimline Plaid Layering Stencil Set. Lots of great options to tie the colors in from your main design when you use this plaid builder.

Here's a workhorse set of layering stencils from the English Garden Stamp and Die set released last month.

English Garden Layering Stencil

I was going for a lush wreath vibe, so I layered an extra set of florals on top of the main wreath. This set comes with 5 additional sets of flower clusters, aside from the wreath, so you have a ton of options.

Blended some ink in the sentiment area (which also comes with this set). Love that I was able to create this entire card, aside from the stitched background, with just one set of products!

Here's my final card for this hop, made with the Sweet Friend suite of products (stamp, die, layering stencils). What I love about this, and all of the recent Pinkfresh die sets, is that they are designed to cut out all the elements AT THE SAME TIME!! So super efficient! Because really, after coloring five different flowers, who wants to line up five different dies? Nope. All of the flower pieces are one stamp, which lets you have one die perfectly spaced to cut them all out at once. Magical!

Sweet Friend Floral Stamp

Having separate flower elements is great for getting a nice custom look. I like to just adhere the flowers at the bottom of the stem. That way the flower can stick out and give you great dimension.

The frame of this card is again from the stripes in the Slimline Plaid Layering Stencil Set. Both sentiments come with this stamp set. This was a fun one to put together, and I liked tucking in my leftover small butterfly to add another color to the blue card

Hope you're enjoying the new release, and my projects here! Would love to have you follow along on the blog and instagram if you're not already : )
