Birthday time!! Specifically, CAS-ual Fridays owner Michele's birthday time! So, while Michele's busy celebrating, we're going to keep the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge open for two weeks. Plenty of time for you to cook up birthday projects to share!
CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is our sponsor this week, with a doubly big prize for the double long challenge ... a $45 gift certificate to the winner!
Happy 45th Birthday, Michele!!
We're going old school here. Well, I guess technically "old school" would be making this with a craft knife, but in this case I mean using die cuts instead of the Silhouette. The first person I saw doing this technique was Amber Kemp-Gerstel.

Line up your dies along washi tape, and line up the washi tape along a line which will be the fold of your card (but don't score it yet). Then line up the line/washi tape with the end of your cutting mat. The goal is to stop your die cutter from cutting out the entire letter/number so it will still be attached to the card base. Where ever the cutting mat ends, the die will stop cutting. Run it all the way through the die cutter. Score along all the spaces that aren't a letter (you don't want bent letters) and fold.
Here you can see what it looks like in the back after I've folded it. I mounted an orange panel inside to hide the negative spaces.
The flower and sentiment stamps are from the newest CAS-ual Fridays release, Mum's the Word, which just went on sale. And yes, some more gold embossing. Who knew?
Thanks so much for looking. Hope to see you in the gallery! And don't forget to check out the "amazeball" design team samples too : )
