Hi Folks! I'm super excited about this little work-horse of a die that just got released from Ellen Hutson!
It. Cuts. Stripes. !!!
This is such a great option for not only a modern background, but also an interactive background! I've slipped the Cat Lady Leading Lady into the bottom stripe (great frame for when you don't want to show the whole lady).
The hearts from All Inside are tucked in between the stripes, and also actually tied to one of the stripes so it can dangle around when the card is being opened. I also stuck a few hearts in both hands for good measure (and more color!)
One thing to note is how I made the pattern on Cat Lady's shirt. I cut a mask of the Cat Lady and removed the entire middle section where her shirt is. On scratch copy paper, I stamped a few Cat Ladys so I could play around with what kind of pattern I'd like on the shirt. The knit sweater pattern looked nice (lower left), but I ended up going with the doodle pattern (middle) instead. I liked it so much that I didn't even try a third option, which is unusual for me.
The sentiment is from Totally Random Sayings Vol 2, and the inside of the card is lined with patterned paper from Lawn Fawn.
Not wanting to throw anything away, I rescued the white stripes that were cut out from the trash and thought they might work to build a few simple letters.
The Cat Lady set was already on my desk, so I grabbed a cat and ball of yarn (also serving as the period) and adhered them to the card. Done! Why not make all that you can before moving on?
Here are the different stencil dies in this current release. I've used all but the diamonds, and am so anxious to try that one out next!
you! are so clever!!! xx

You are always so clever! Both of your projects are amazing, just like you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet lady with an arm full of hearts. Love that some hang from the stripes too. And a purple kitty. How fun!
