Hi folks! Here's a challenge that could lead to all sorts of different possibilities ... use three of something on just one third of your card front. Right?! Fun!
The winner of this challenge will get a fabulous prize from Loves Rubber Stamps and will also be featured in a post on CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Runners up will receive a stamp or die set of their choice from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!
As I was thinking about this challenge, I remembered a nice, graphic beach ball image on A Child's Year cartridge for the Cricut. I'm curious, who has used a Cricut in the last 6 months? Bobby, I think you have, anyone else? I have to admit, it was nice to open it up again and show it some love. Still works like a charm : )
My favorite, double-sided AC Lucky Charm paper make up the top two thirds of the ball. The bottom third is where I used my three items ... a sentiment (from Woot, Woot) stamped three times, and three letter dies for "one". The letters are extra thick because I had problems making up my mind. Originally, I had orange letters for a tone-on-tone look, but the ball looked a little top heavy. So I put the blue letters on top, and kinda liked how it was thicker and outlined a little.
The ball originally had four sections, but that wouldn't really do for a challenge using thirds.
So I had to cut the third and forth section and make them into one larger section. I have to say I like these colors together, but the ball in thirds is nice because it has room for a sentiment. I'll probably put some dymo label sentiments on this four-section-ball when it's time to be used.
You're not going to want to miss the inspiration that these talented ladies have waiting for you:
Can't wait to see your creations in the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge gallery!
Thanks so much for looking!

Kelly, I have one...mainly use it for projects for the kids! I had it open the other day to cut some tiny ovals for eggs on a card! Love this card...your patterned paper and stamping is perfect!
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I love the papers you chose to fill in the spaces and that you did the front and back. I haven't used my cricut in months.....
ReplyDeleteThis is over the top FABulous!
ReplyDeletelove this sweet ball card, I just want to give it to a little boy and then pinch his cheeks! All said in my "talking to a child" voice too! LOL. It is an overwhelming feeling that I get by the cuteness, love it!
ReplyDeletewhat a great shape Kelly! I love the colors you used and the way the three-peated sentiment curves in there perfectly!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Kelly. I do still use mine. I posted a card today, in fact, using A Child's Year but I don't remember this image on there. Using the circle is a unique take on the thirds challenge. If you weren't on the design team, you'd win the challenge.
ReplyDeleteI am guilty of NOT using a Cricut!! My blog followers probably have never seen me using any project with a Cricut (LOL)! Your aced this challenge, Kelly! AWESOME example of using three 3rds! PS: Dr. John was inspired to pack his Lego like you did (that's what he said!!!)...we made a trip to Lego store and he bought two containers PACKED to the max/full for only $13! Will share pic soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea! Love the shape & mixture of patterns & colors!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Love that image and how you adapted the shape to fit the challenge...genius! I love how you added the sentiment too. I don't have a Cricut, but something similar...an e-clips by Sizzix. Unfortunately I don't hear of anyone using that either! It gets a lot of use with the kids' projects!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun, Kelly ... great shape, brilliant colours ... sooo creative! My Cricut died a few months ago ... didn't matter how much love I gave it, it couldn't be resusitated! Ho hum! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant. Having used my Cricut since last August. I was just looking at it a few days ago thinking I either need to use it or lose it. Your card has me leaning toward use. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks brilliant. I haven't used mine in so long but really should get it working again when I see cards like this! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card. I have to say I never jumped on the Cricut bandwagon (too cheap), and am trying to resist the pull of the Silhouette, too. Although, a card like yours is very tempting....Such a fun design and I love the colors.
