Guest Designer, Anyone?!

Winter Blues don't seem to be going away any time soon, so let's embrace them and let them spark something creative! We've got a Blue Challenge. Use any CAS-ual Fridays Stamps or Fri-Dies and the color blue, that's it. Any style from CAS to Layer-licious is welcome. The challenge will end at 11:59 pm on February 14th.

Now here's the exciting part ...the winner will join us as a Guest Designer for one of the CAS-ual Fridays upcoming releases, and have their project featured on the store blog during sneak peek week. This of course means the winner will ALSO receive something yummy that hasn't been seen before!

The asterisk dies from CAS-ual Fridays round tag Fri-Dies make the PERFECT splat from a thrown snowball. I tried to place them on a diagonal across the page to help guide the eye.

I wanted the journaling to match the energy of my son at the bus stop, so I picked a fun paper to layer under the vellum. The journaling is written on vellum strips that I bent here and there. They overlap the photo slightly (benefit of using vellum, and of having white space in your photo) and are sewn to the page. The border stamp from Rad is generationally stamped underneath the journaling, and the arrows help identify where to start reading.

Sure hope you'll get a chance to play along at CAS-ual Fridays

Thanks for looking!

  4. So womderful! Love the kind of ombré shading on the bottom of the paper contrasted with the generational stamping, the way you did the journaling goes right up to the edge of the paper

  11. You're two for two with amazingly fun fabulous layouts! So the "snowballs" are brilliant, but my favorite part is the journaling...such a fun read! You're stitching is perfect. Love the paper you chose, the wavy vellum, and the "energy" that inspired it.
