Hello Friends! I hope you had a good Halloween this year! My youngest went trick-or-treating and reported that there were a lot of creative families who rigged up slides as a way to safely hand out candy. So thankful to those who helped keep this tradition alive for the kids, even in the middle of a pandemic.
Now it's time to take down all the jack-o-lanterns, skeletons, spiders, and black cats, but I do enjoy leaving out the fall floral arrangements for another month. These Autumn beauties inspired the card I made with the new Altenew Hawaiian Coral Build-a-Flower stamp and die set.
You may have come from Laurie Willison's blog, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with the Altenew Card Blog.
These are colors that I've never used for flowers before, but really ended up creating quite a fall vibe. Since there is only one flower in this set, there are four layers you can use to build up the depth.
Tip: to create different shades of similar-looking flowers, use the same colors for the first two lighter-colored layers, and then just vary the larger third layer. They will end up looking all in the same family.
I love all the highlighted areas that are in this flower. It ends up looking like beautifully variegated petals. Once this Fall bouquet is arranged together, all that's needed is a sentiment or two and a few gold spatters.

ReplyDeleteLove the look of your flowers & your beautiful card, Kelly! I saw some candy chutes on TV--very creative! Glad your kiddo had fun! My little neighbor kids came by in the afternoon to show me their costumes from a safe distance--so cute! Then they headed to "Trunk or Treating" where 5 families had their vehicles in a circle. Kids from each family went around the circle one at a time to show off their costumes & pick up treat bags. Nice option for all of them. Fritz was happy no one rang our doorbell. He's just too much of a watchdog to like Halloween--haha!
