Free Shipping Days For Colorado Craft Company!

Oh Happy Days! Free shipping at Colorado Craft Company!!  Any purchases on February 12th or 13th will qualify for free shipping (including the new release items!)

Here's the code you'll need to use: FREESHIPPINGKG

I shared two of the mice cards in the blog hop on Thursday, here's the third card:

Adorbs! The little mouse is teetering on the carnation tea cup so he can stretch just a bit more to say "hi!"

Love how this sentiment, which also comes in the Tea Cups and More Stamp Set, fits perfect around the mouse and the tea cup, with the tail even snaking in between words.

Sure hope you find some sets to take home over these two free shipping days!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

New Colorado Craft Company Release!

Hello Friends! Exciting news, there's a brand new line debuting at Colorado Craft Company today! Kris Laurent of Pretty Little Lines has illustrated several new stamp sets with coordinating dies. I think you are going to love her style ... cute but not overly cutsey. And lots of florals. Here's one of the sets, Best Friends Forever.

Best Friends Forever Stamps

You can see there's a swag of flowers that I doubled up to form a wreath. The die set is super versatile, as there's a die for the outside of the swag, and a completely seperate die for the inside of the swag. I chose to use both here, but you could totally use just the outside die to create a fun flap.

I have a circular piece of vellum in the middle of the wreath, with the little heart sprigs and die cut sentiment adhered on. Love using the smaller coordinating pieces in a set, like these heart sprigs.

Here's a quick peek at the back. I cut another layer of the florals in cardstock to make the wreath more stable. The tab on the stand is adhered behind the sentiment area so it's not visible from the front. I kept the stand from sliding down by running some gold thread through a hole I punched and knotted the end. It's a cute and easy-to-do detail.

Another adorable set is the Teacup and Mice Stamps. This set has three different mice who can interact with three different teacup/flowers. I love this little guy's expression. It really looks like he's saying whatever sentiment you're going to put on your card. This sentiment is included in the set.

My kids alwasy save me the little doillies that restaurants put underneath their cups (so cute) and I've used one here for a little table cloth for the tea cup. You might notice the vellum LOVE letters layered behind, those are from the new Sitting Gnomes Dies set.

Here are those cute LOVE dies again. I "love" how they're just the right size to overlap a bit and span the entire card. I've used a different little mouse guy, who's holding a tiny heart on his tail (also included with the love dies).

I modified the sentiment from the mouse set a bit. It actually has an exclaimation point after the "Just wanted to say you're amazing" but I changed that into a comma so it now reads "Just wanted to say you're amazing, love"

What's a release without a little giveaway? Each designer on the hop will be giving away $25 gift card to the shop. Just leave a comment along the way. Winners will be picked and announced February 15th. Good luck!

Pinkfresh Studio January 2022 Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release

Hello Friends! Welcome to the first Pinkfresh Studio release of 2022! It's a great way to kick off the new year, with a scripty word hot foil set, a couple background stencil sets, a cover plate die you'll use all the time, a fun foliage die that will enhance all your floral sets, and one heck of a floral set.

You may have come from the fabulously "creative chick" Jenn Shurkus, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with Pinkfresh Studio.

Floral Envelope Stamp

One of my favorites from this release is the Floral Envelope Stamp, which of course also has a coordinating die and coloring stencil set. I'd love to share two different ways to use this fabulous set ...

This set has a cute little envelope that you can make good use of all those tiny scraps of patterned paper you've been hoarding. If you look closely, you'll see it's lined with the same citron green as the letters ... TIP: just die cut another envelope and slip it through the slit for an easy coordinated lined envelope!

The flowers are all colored the same via the stencil, for ease, as well as to keep it a little more uniform with all we have going on this card. I added two white sprigs of the new Curvy Foliage Die which is going to get a TON of use!

The sentiment on black also comes with this set, bonus. I loved pairing the new scripted "hey" hot foil and die
with the oldie but goodie Lea's Ornate Uppercase Dies. "Hey Boo" is such a sweet, endearing, and on-trend sentiment.

And check out those sexy copper-foiled hearts on the heart I cut out of cardstock!!

I must admit the background of this card came about by happy accident. This is one of the three stencils in the Geo Blocks Layering Stencils Set. It's the first stencil I started with, and when I lifted the stencil I thought it looked pretty darn good so I just stopped there! Quite a versatile stencil.

Here's another look for the
Floral Envelope Stamp set ... skipping the envelope and just using the flower bunch. Now those stems are visible and you have a great place to put the ribbon that also comes with the set. TIP: bend both sides of the ribbon up for some extra dimension without needing to layer or use foam tape.

Unlike the first card where the flowers were all the same color, I changed the colors on this bouquet because I wanted it to be the main focal point. Also added some
Curvy Foliage Die to "fancy" it up!

Did you happen to notice the copper-foiled stripes on the bottom of the oval?! One of my favorite design elements! I was staring at this empty oval area for several minutes, and then thought of the new Arch Backdrop Hot Foil Plate ... just use either of the long sides to add a wonderful set of foil stripes wherever you need!

And of course we can't not talk about that fabulous Sparkling Diamonds Cover Plate Die on the background that I'll be using all the time.  Love the tone-on-tone pattern you get when you subtly blend ink on top. All the cracks catch and highlight the color so you're left with an easy design that will always coordinate with itself (much like versamark-inked designs).

Hope you enjoyed my two different looks for the Floral Envelope Stamp, with the floral bunch both inside and separate from the envelope!

GIVEAWAYS:

We will be giving away the full release on the Pinkfresh blog & YouTube channel!! We will also be giving away a total of TEN $25  gift cards, so comment along the hop for more chances to win. Altenew NEW Year-End Celebration Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hello Friends! I'm always a fan of a good stand-alone die, and love that Altenew has special releases featuring just stand-alone dies. This is one of those releases, and I'm happy to spotlight the giant cake, and the 3D rose dies, among others!

December 2021 Stand Alone Dies

You may have come from the blog of Nathalie DeSousa, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with the Altenew Blog.

At first I was thinking wedding cake for this Celebrate with Cake Die Set, but weddings (hopefully) only happen once ... anniversaries are every year! Wedding or 50th golden anniversary, a white cake looks fantastic as a focal image for your card!

Celebrate with Cake Die Set

I have a tip if you're going all white for the cake. Use an embossing folder with fine details and scrolls, like this Ornamental Feature 3D Embossing Folder (yikes, there's only one left!) to add detail to the sides. It's the perfect way to get the feel of cakes decorated with white icing, and a fondant layer on top!

Since this is a tall slimline card, and because I wanted more of the embossed/icing side of the cake to show, I raised the icing layer higher than it's meant to be.

Two more things to note: 1) each layer is decorated with vines that come with the set, and a tiny stenciled flower and leaf from an older floral set, and 2) check out that gold foil cake plate with the black base!

The Fancy Yay Die is fun and festive! I love the giant scrolly tail on the "y" so you have somewhere to layer a secondary sentiment ("happy anniversary").

Finally, I layered two of the Nested Slim Labels Dies for something different under the cake and sentiments.

I wasn't sure how this
Mini Rolled Rose Die Set was going to turn out, but boy am I glad I tried it! Gorgeous!!

Of course it's not going to fit in a standard envelope, but if you're giving the card in person (yay that we can do that now!!) what a great way for it to stand out. Literally!

I blended ink on paper in a gradient fashion, keeping in mind how big the die is. Then after cutting, you just grab the end with a tweezers or your hand, twirl around itself, and hot glue on the bottom. Couldn't be easier!

And bonus, the serrated green leaves come with this set too!

The panel the flowers are on is the new
Mega Stamp Frames Die Set. If you look at the bottom, the edge resembles a postage stamp edge. Perfect way to frame anything, really.
Another bonus, the die cut words also come with this set.
