Hello Friends! I hope you had a good Halloween this year! My youngest went trick-or-treating and reported that there were a lot of creative families who rigged up slides as a way to safely hand out candy. So thankful to those who helped keep this tradition alive for the kids, even in the middle of a pandemic.
Now it's time to take down all the jack-o-lanterns, skeletons, spiders, and black cats, but I do enjoy leaving out the fall floral arrangements for another month. These Autumn beauties inspired the card I made with the new Altenew Hawaiian Coral Build-a-Flower stamp and die set.
You may have come from Laurie Willison's blog, but if not feel free to start at the beginning with the Altenew Card Blog.
These are colors that I've never used for flowers before, but really ended up creating quite a fall vibe. Since there is only one flower in this set, there are four layers you can use to build up the depth.
Tip: to create different shades of similar-looking flowers, use the same colors for the first two lighter-colored layers, and then just vary the larger third layer. They will end up looking all in the same family.
I love all the highlighted areas that are in this flower. It ends up looking like beautifully variegated petals. Once this Fall bouquet is arranged together, all that's needed is a sentiment or two and a few gold spatters.
