They are about the size of a Kleenex tissue. I'm not sure why we run the die and card stock through the Big Shot/Cuttlebug and then AGAIN with a dryer sheet. I do it all at once and it works well. I HAVE learned to put something...you suggested the metal shim...like a piece of printer paper under the dryer sheet or you get the waxy substance on the cutting plates which is difficult to remove.
