Vintage Inspired Globe - EH Two Takes on a Trend

Hi folks! I've got a color trend post today for Ellen Hutson's new color palette!

This was another challenge for me since I'm not sure I've ever really used these colors together. But how gorgeous are they? Fabulous! Just love these challenges!!

I wanted to use the Stitched Together Globe from the EH collaboration with Waffle Flower, and also was inspired by my son's vintage globe in his play room.

Without these two sources of inspiration, I never would have thought to make the "water" part of the globe tan, instead of blue or aqua. I was actually pretty happy with how it turned out! I used copper embossing instead of gold to compliment the tans and browns in the card.

I also liked being able to use the smaller cross stitch heart in this set to make my own pattern paper on the bottom. I think it really ties in the cross stitch theme of this card. Also the sentiment from Winnie & Walter's Big Hugs was perfect ... "the world became a better place when you were born."

Be looking to play along with the July Color Trend Challenge when it gets posted later this week. You have a whole month to dream up something special to share with everyone. Also, there will be a randomly chosen winner to receive a $50 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson!

Thanks for stopping by!
