Hi Folks! I've really been loving the heat embossing on vellum look lately, like this card from the crazy-talented Tasnim. The flower from CAS-ual Fridays Loving Thoughts set works out pretty well for this technique. Another advantage of vellum is that it bends so crisply and easily since it's usually thinner than cardstock. So for this card, I folded it into a 3D floral medallion (using two flower images, one for each half). The sentiment is also from Loving Thoughts and is bent to follow the curve of the card.
The outside and inside papers are both from Pebbles (From Me to You line).
It's a frosted vellum, so a little more opaque than usual. On the right side of the flower you can see where the two folded flower ends meet. They're pretty close, so I left them be and did not adhere them together. I just have some glue in the center and then the brad on top.
I made this card with the current Virginia's View Challenge in mind, hosted by none other than fellow CAS-ual Fridays Ink Squader, Virginia Lu. If you haven't seen or guessed already, the challenge is to make a shaped card. Fun!!
This card, and some step-by-step instructions, are over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog today.
Thanks for looking!
