CFS: Casual Comfort and Casual Trees

We've got an awesome floral and sentiment stamp in the March CAS-ual Fridays release. This is seriously one of my favorites. The florals are nice and "whispy" and there are a TON of sentiments to mix 'n match. This card features two of the florals front and center ... the berry is stamped right over the leafy bush. These sentiments are great for the Dymo label look, which I always think of Aga and Tasnim when I use it. I made a simple mask from copy paper for the wide stripes in the background and blended melon ink over it.

The Paper Crafts March Gallery Challenge of mint and melon inspired the colors.

I still had scraps of that awesome gold doily on my desk, and one of those scraps found a home right under the sentiment to ground it.

There is a wonderful coordinating die set for these stamps too! It totally fits my die-purchasing-criteria of being way too detailed for me to comfortably fussy cut. Here, it's just cut on plain white paper and mounted on white paper. Can't get more basic than that, but it still shines. Cousin Helen's gold thread is tied around the stem, and another sentiment from the set is embossed in gold.

The diminutive size of the card has a matching envelope made with the We R Memory Keepers Punch Board. American Crafts paper lines the inside of the card, and makes up the envelope.

One last card, although I seriously had a half dozen other ideas for this set. This gallery mounted panel was created by inking a mounting block with several colors, misting, and stamping. This technique I saw on maria f.'s awesomely inspirational blog.

I pruned a tiny sprig off the full pink berry die and tucked it behind yet another sentiment from the set. More gold doily parts, and a bit of fringe layered under the panel complete the compressed design.

Did you see we have the extremely talented Deepti guesting with us for the whole release? You're definitely going to want to check her posts out. She won the CFS Blue Challenge and earned a spot to work with the stamps. The contest was so popular, you might want to keep your eyes out for future contests for a Guest Designer role : ) As always, more inspiration waits for you with the rest of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Design Team:
