Christmas Gift Tag

I was so happy Tracey McNeely asked me to take part in her 25 Days of Christmas Tags special. I've enjoyed reading her tag series, which is now in its THIRD year! Tracey is the sweetest crafter around, always leaving encouragement for everyone. I seriously don't know how she does it all, especially since she's on a million design teams. Its been a real delight to know her better over the years.

I just got the MFT Die Namics Accent It Celebrate word dies (Thanks Helen!!) and totally fell in love. There are so many different ways I could use "celebrate" for this tag, but I ended up dividing it into thirds and loosely layering the letters.

The ribbon, which totally makes the tag, is from none other than ...

EEEK! Paper Source! I've been waiting for it to open for many months now, and on American Black Friday I finally got my chance. It is literally 3 minutes from my house. A tad closer than Michael's. I know, crazy! Paper Source started out being a high-quality stamping/paper/stationary store downtown Chicago, and apparently has branched out to 40+ locations now, mostly around LA, New York and Chicago.

I couldn't resist. While getting the Paper Source photo, this photo was right next to it. We saw the wonderful Disney movie Frozen and this is my youngest getting out of the theater with his 3D glasses and hat. He wore that take-out container (unused) on his head for most of the day.

Thanks for looking!

And what a cool tag! I love the gradient reds you used to spell "celebrate". Uh... a Paper Source 3 minutes from your home??? That totally beats when I used to live in front of Ikea in Madrid!

What a wonderful tag Kelly - fabulous design with the cut up sentiment and another barn star - I was inspired to make a card with a barn star after seeing your post - gave you credit for the inspiration and linked to your blog post - We have Paper Source stores here in Massachusetts as well - one just down the street from where I work in Boston - they have such fun stuff there!
