CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is now offering DIES!
Leave it to Michele to not only come up with exciting new products, but also a fun name for them:
Seriously, how perfect is that? FRI-DIES! Clever, clever, clever.
We'll be sharing cards made with the new dies, as well as two new sets, all week. Check back at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps often! Also, be sure to check out who the new team members are, so much inspiration!
The first is a series of graduated dies that cut out layers of the flower from Loving Thoughts.
Don't have that stamp set? No worries, the dies work just fine on their own! Use all or some of the graduated flowers to make beautifully layered blooms. In this case, I swapped the second largest flower for some lace to give more texture. For added dimension, I die cut a set of the flowers from chipboard (really, the cardboard drink holder from Sonic, who has a wonderful half price deal on shakes after 8 pm ... feeds my sweet tooth and my crafting obsession at the same time!) The patterned paper is somewhat offset from the chipboard
Stamping and embossing the flower first gives a more detailed look. For this flower, spritz the die cuts with water, crumple in your hands, slightly flatten and let dry. It's amazing how well the dried paper holds its shape. The sentiment is from Beanstalks.
Not a flower person? No matter, you can use the die to make cookies. Not edible cookies, of course, but ones out of 3 layers of Sonic drink holders!
The icing is from Glossy Accents scribbled on white paper (I did this with the outline die on top of the paper so I could slightly follow the petals) and later cut out. Before it dries, tossing pastel seed beads on top makes for good sprinkles. It's a fun one to feel : )

ReplyDeleteOh...I am SO going to use the sprinkled pastel beads inside glossy accents! That's BRILLIANT!! I did have a question on the crumpled flower, though. Did you heat emboss that before or after you crumpled it up?

Hi Becca! Yep, I heat embossed before crumpling, although now that you ask, I'd be curious to see what it would look like to emboss after crumpling! Thanks so much for your comment : )
